HIDDEN BENEATH
Bachelor thesis project - Architecture in the Contemporary

The worldwide consumption and production rests on the use of natural resources and is a driving force in the destruction of the environment. Yet the demand for production is increasing. The global use of materials has multiplied 8 times the last century and the projection is that it will double in the next 30 years. To reach the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for responsible consumption and production we need to change the way we consume radically.
Hidden Beneath translates the drastic contrast between the society of consumerism and how the post-consumerism society would work into architecture. This project and exhibition aims not to find solutions or answers to the problem of overconsumption, but rather enlighten the issue and encourage people to reflect on the topic.
